Oak Rough Sawn Sparks Beams (BM103SP)

Oak Rough Sawn Sparks Beams present Oak in a striking natural form. Saw marks and open grain remain, giving each beam tangible presence and visual authority. The results are interiors that feel grounded, intentional, and authentic. Colors are cool and restrained, with weathered taupe, soft gray, and medium brown tones. The Rough Sawn surface has character marks that add depth, creating surfaces that feel organic rather than manufactured.

Available as box or solid, Sparks Reclaimed Beams blend effortlessly into modern interiors, rustic, and transitional spaces. These beams perform beautifully in ceilings, wraps, trusses, and oversized focal installations.

A strong choice for projects that prioritize authenticity, natural variation, and architectural presence.

“It comes to me every day of my life that a home spirit is being awakened amongst us, that as a nation we are beginning to realize how important it is to have homes of our own, homes that we like, that we have been instrumental in building, that we will want to have belong to our children.” -Gustav Stickley

Rough Sawn Beams Detailed Specs

Rough Sawn beams carry the marks of their history. Crafted from authentic reclaimed wood, each beam tells a story. Sourced from older structures like barns, factories, and vintage buildings, they showcase an original patina and distinctive saw marks from their original milling. Left with their original face to highlight their natural beauty, the rough sawn boards have subtle variations in texture and tone. Compared to the Hand Hewn beams, our rough sawn beams are less rustic with a surface that allows for more consistant surface and stain finishes. The lighter-weight box beams combine the beauty of the original surface with the benefit of being lighter weight to ship and install. Use box beams as a new architectural design element or to cover existing elements or beams. E&K Rough Sawn Beams deliver the presence of true vintage timber while offering flexible customization for any project.

Box Joinery: In an ideal situation, we take a single solid Rough Sawn beam that is the size of the box beam we are making. We resaw the face and two sides from the solid beam and reassemble these skins with a miter joint. If we cannot make the size needed from a single solid beam, we will use pieces from multiple beams and will miter them together using our proprietary techniques that mean the finished beam will read as a solid beam.
Box Length Joint: Miter joint, Lock Miter joint.
Source: Reclaimed beams taken from barns and other old structures.
Colors: Natural wood colors found on exterior patina. Custom staining options are available to complement your design. Reclaimed wood beams offer natural variation creating depth, warmth, and visual interest that makes every installation feel unique and authentic. Because of this natural variation, colors and stains will differ from beam to beam and may not be an exact match to samples.
