The planks these Hemlock Rough Sawn Beams are made from are reclaimed from Hemlock bins used to grow mushrooms. The unique character of this reclaimed Hemlock comes from the process that happens when the soil medium the mushrooms are grown in interacts with the wood grain. Over time, enzymes wear away at the softer parts of the wood, creating a dimensional surface and enhancing the grain, resulting in a rustic, eye-catching texture.
When the Hemlock bins are retired, they are taken apart, hand-sorted, and cleaned. We use the boards to create our Hemlock Mushroom Wood Rough Sawn Reclaimed Wood Box Beams that stand out as rustic wood ceiling beams with fantastically contoured and textured surfaces. Seen here in both rich brown and custom grey tones.
We also craft paneling and siding from Mushroom Wood that makes excellent reclaimed wood walls! You can see Mushroom Wood Brown Paneling and Siding here and Mushroom Wood Grey Paneling and Siding here.
