Oak Hand Hewn Rosia Beams (BM100RS)

Oak Hand Hewn Rosia Beams offer a lighter brown tone with soft gray whitewashing, creating a weathered appearance that is both rustic and contemporary. The finish blends with the grain, giving the beam a unique, refined profile.

Like all of our Hand Hewn Beams, Oak Hand Hewn Rosia Box Beams keep the authentic textures left by early American craftsmen. Each reclaimed beam bears its own markings and grain patterns, faithfully preserved through our box beam construction technique. Our fabrication methods and quality standards allow us to make unique beams of reclaimed wood that look like solid timbers.

“It comes to me every day of my life that a home spirit is being awakened amongst us, that as a nation we are beginning to realize how important it is to have homes of our own, homes that we like, that we have been instrumental in building, that we will want to have belong to our children.” -Gustav Stickley

Hand Hewn Beams Detailed Specs

Hand Hewn beams carry the marks of real history. Each piece is reclaimed, authentic, and shaped by the original adze work that gives this surface its depth and character. Hand Hewn beams are available as either solid beams or constructed box beams. The lighter-weight box beams combine the beauty of the original hewn surface with the benefit of being cheaper to ship and install. Use box beams as a new architectural design element or to cover existing beams. E&K Hand Hewn Beams deliver the presence of true vintage timber while offering flexible sizing for any project.

Box Joinery: In an ideal situation, we take a single solid Hand Hewn beam that is the size of the box beam we are making. We resaw the face and two sides from the solid beam and reassemble these skins with a butt joint. This allows us to retain the same irregular edges found on the solid beams. If we cannot make the size needed from a single solid beam, we will use pieces from multiple beams and will miter them together.
Box Length Joint: Butt joint, Miter joint.
Source: Reclaimed beams taken from barns and other old structures.
Colors: Natural wood colors found on exterior patina. Custom staining options are available to complement your design. Reclaimed wood beams offer natural variation creating depth, warmth, and visual interest that makes every installation feel unique and authentic. Because of this natural variation, colors and stains will differ from beam to beam and may not be an exact match to samples.
